Welcome To Heart Jewel Kadampa Buddhist Centre
Our meditation centre is a special welcoming place of tranquillity, relaxation, reflection and friendship. We offer a regular programme of classes, courses, workshops and retreats on meditation and modern Buddhism, at the Centre here in Matlock Bath and at various venues across the Derbyshire Dales and Amber Valley. Our classes are suited for all levels of experience.

Our weekly classes run at Heart Jewel Centre in Matlock Bath; and at our branch classes in Chesterfield and Mansfield.
All classes include an introductory meditation, practical teaching and guided meditation on the subject of the teaching, and practical advice on how to put the teachings into practise in daily life.

We run a series of day and half day courses throughout the year which focus on specific ways we can benefit from Venerable Geshe-la’s teachings in our dailty lives.
All courses are suitable for beginners and more advanced practitioners and are presented in the beautiful surroundings of Heart Jewel Centre in Matlock Bath.

Throughout the year we hold other events for an opportunity to learn more about the centre and meet the community including empowerments, public talks, meals and walks in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales which surround the Centre.
These events are open to all and include either a meditation or other opportunity to develop a peaceful mind.

Retreats give us an opportunity to consolidate our understanding of Dharma and engage in meaningful practices.
Retreats are normally guided and consist of an introduction and a number of sessions throughout the day meditating or reciting mantras.

Love is the great protector, protecting us from anger and jealousy. It never gives rise to problems but only to peace and happiness for both ourself and others.
Join us at Heart Jewel Centre on Tuesday evenings in August, meditating each week on one of the 3 aspects of love:
