OUR CENTRE

Heart Jewel Kadampa Buddhist Centre was established in November 2007 by the fully qualified meditation master, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

Located in the heart of the beautiful Derbyshire Dales, the Centre provides a peaceful and inspiring environment dedicated to inner and outer peace where anyone can visit, relax and learn about meditation and Buddhism.

By practising Buddha's teachings, or Dharma, we can protect ourself from suffering and problems and improve the quality of our human life. This is because the quality of our life depends upon the inner development of peace and happiness, not upon external material development.

Heart Jewel Centre follows centuries of teachings in the pure tradition of Je Tsongkhapa. The purpose of the Centre is to promote inner and outer peace through the practice of these teachings... and through following the example of sincere Kadampa practitioners transforming their lives through dedicated service to others.

Heart Jewel Centre is a registered charity open to everybody. All are welcome to visit the Centre and experience the peaceful environment of the meditation room and world peace cafe.

Kelsang Osung is the resident teacher of Heart Jewel Kadampa Buddhist Centre.

She has trained at Tara Centre for over fourteen years and has been ordained for two years. This experience coupled with her wise, loving and compassionate nature, makes Kelsang Osung perfectly qualified to teach Buddha's instructions.
