Courses and retreats
Heart Jewel Centre runs various events including:
Day Courses and 1/2 day courses
The 1/2 day courses are a chance to find out more about meditation and practical application of Buddhism into daily activities. It's not a requirement to be a Buddhist to benefit from these sessions, if you have a wish to be happy and improve your experience of daily life then they are relevant for you.
The benefits of the teachings given in these courses are, through sincerely practising these teachings, you can solve your daily problems such as the problems of anger, attachment, jealousy and ignorance. You can maintain a peaceful mind all the time so that you will be happy all the time. You can maintain harmony and good relationships with your family, friends and others so that you can make others happy too. Especially, you can make your human life very meaningful.
The courses are comprised of 2 sessions - each with a talk and meditation and a chance for questions and answers. Refreshments are included.

Retreats
A range of retreats are available for beginners and experienced practitioners. Sessions are held at 7:30am, 10:30am, 4pm and 7:30pm and last for 1½ hours. Retreats are free of charge. Please inform the centre beforehand if you are intending to come to a session.
The Foundation Programme
A specially designed study programme which functions to increase our wisdom and practical application of Buddha's teachings. Through listening, contemplating, meditating and discussing we learn how to solve our problems, find permanent inner peace and become of real benefit to others.
